New York Travel Guide

New York Travel GuideWhen you are coming to the Big Apple by plane you will have no problems wherever you travel from as New York is well connected with most of the major cities of the world. Air traffic is quite busy and you will always find the way to come to the city by plane. If you are coming in from the sky you will most likely land on the JFK airport as it is the biggest and best connected airport in the city. From here the best way to come to the city itself would be to catch a cab as the subway could get quite crowded during peak hours and carrying luggage would be a real pain if you have more than one bag. Well, even that one could be a big problem.

There are also trains and buses but still taking a taxi is the most recommended option for mostly all. The cheapest option would be to take a bus from Terminal 4. If you are coming to New York by train then you will arrive to the New York Penn Station which is a central hub for all the trains in the city. Amtrak goes through the northeast corridor so you won’t be connected to many cities with the rail.

Greyhound buses are on the other hand very well connected with most of the major cities so you will have no problem just check when you have your bus because in smaller towns there are as little as one to two during the whole day.

If you are coming by car then you will have lots of problems with parking so it is not very recommended. When you are going around the town you should have no problems with orientation as New York is a big grid with streets going from east to west and avenues from south to north. If you need to go short distances then the best way would be to go on foot as that way you will avoid the traffic jams.

For longer distances it is a good idea to go on the subway as you can also take a ticket for several days that pays off really good. There are also many different bus lines that connect the main spots in the town. Taxis are also very attractive as they are very well known and NYC taxies are famous for their service throughout the world.
